Founded in 1994, Fruttagel is a cooperative union made up of farming and agro-industrial cooperatives and services from the region of Emilia Romagna and, later, the Coind industrial group; it has two product processing and packaging plants, one in Alfonsine in Ravenna, and the other in Larino, in Molise.

Central to the quality of the finished product are the transformation lines, of which there are two types in the Fruttagel plants: the hot lines for the production of beverages and tomato derivatives, and the cold lines for the production of frozen vegetables.

The products reach the consumer primarily via major retail channels and the food service industry, either as customer brands or cooperative brands.
