The Sustainability Report Award is an editorial initiative born from Corriere della Sera (historic Italian newspaper) , in collaboration with Bologna Business School, to enhance the companies that have been best able to seize the opportunity offered by the Sustainability Report to tell a transparent and complete story in their design and social activities, thus transforming it into a real competitive lever.

As part of this initiative, Fruttagel was ranked among the 5 best large companies in the Food category, together with CAMST, Sanpellegrino Group, Campari Group and Inalca.

The analysis of the reports was based on 15 objective parameters defined by professors and researchers of Bologna Business School who, after studying pre-existing materials and involving some experts in two focus groups (with AICCON – Associazione Italiana per la Promozione della Cultura della Cooperazione e del Non Profit, ASVIS – Alleanza Italiana per lo sviluppo sostenibile, Banca Etica, Forum Finanza Sostenibile, Sodalitas Foundation and Impronta Etica), have developed the reference grid related to the Environmental, Social and Good Governance (ESG) indicators: diversity and equal opportunities; fair pay policies; working conditions; consumer protection; impact on the territory; waste management; impact on water resources; management of hazardous pollutants and chemicals; sustainability of materials; energy efficiency; harmful emissions; recovery and recycling of resources; deforestation and land use; compliance with anti-pollution regulationscorruption; tax governance. The completeness of the topics covered, the declared ambitions and the quality of the reporting were also evaluated for each report.
The Fruttagel 2020 Sustainability Report “presents clear objectives that the company puts in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting their contribution. It also contains adequate metrics with historical data.”

An important recognition for Fruttagel, which reports its activities in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility since 2006, when the first Social Report was drawn up, from 2014 Sustainability Report. The Sustainability Report is now an essential part of the way of doing business,  presented annually to the Shareholders’ Meeting together with the Annual Report.

Fruttagel 2020 Sustainability Report has also been awarded the “GRI Certification Scheme” and the “ISO 26000 Certification” by the third party Bureau Veritas.
